Interactive to roll out Urbanise remote monitoring technology

Urbanise.com Limited (Urbanise) (ASX:UBN) announced today that it is entering into a customer agreement with multi service IT provider Interactive Pty Ltd (Interactive) – Australia’s largest privately owned IT company.

Under the agreement, Interactive will use the Urbanise platform and remote monitoring devices as part of their DC Care program to help its more than 2,000 customers to remotely monitor their data centre facilities. This will enable customers to have greater visibility of their environments by providing immediate detection or early warning of problems and a more in depth monitoring of energy consumption. As a result, customers will be able to fine tune their environments to achieve more efficient energy consumption and increase the potential of qualifying for NABERS accreditation.NABERS is a national rating system that measures the environmental performance of Australian buildings, tenancies and homes. NABERS measures the energy efficiency, water usage, waste management and indoor environment quality of a building or tenancy and its impact on the environment.

Commenting on the announcement, Interactive’s National Data Centre Manager Eamonn Eason said, “We are always looking for innovative technologies to create new efficiencies for our customers. The addition of remote environmental and energy monitoring to our service offerings is a real value add for our data centre customers – both in terms of ensuring continuity of operations and energy savings.”

Urbanise CEO Ben Churchill added, “Government driven compliance initiatives such as Australia’s NABERS and the EU’s ESOS have only heightened the focus on energy consumption and the need to identify inefficiencies and track savings. The remote monitoring technology integrated into our service delivery platform offers operators a whole new level of visibility around indoor environment quality, energy consumption and asset efficiency. We look forward to working with Interactive and their data centre customers to secure energy savings and increased service availability.”
